TGIF, Weekend Cocktail Recipe – Peach Tree Punch

When my husband and I went to Portland, Oregon we discovered a lovely tiki bar called Trader Vic’s. I love anything tiki, so I knew I would love this place. My husband and I are vegetarians so the food choices were almost nonexistent but the cocktail menu was out of this world. One of the cocktails I ordered was this peachy concoction called The Peach Tree Punch, and boy was it yummy! So I had to do some digging on Google but finally found a recipe that taste exactly like it, of course I made some modifications. I think this is one of my favorite summertime drinks to make. Enjoy!

Peach Tree Punch

1/2 peach (fresh, canned or frozen. I prefer frozen), plus 1/4 peach for garnish

1 ounce coconut cream liqueur ( I used Malibu )

1 once of Cream of Coconut ( this is my add to make it more creamy )

4 ounces orange juice

1 1/2 ounces light rum ( Trader Vic’s makes a light rum and is very reasonably priced but any light rum will do. )

1/4 ounce peach brandy ( I used Dr. McGillicuddy Peach Schnapps )

Mint sprig for garnish

Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish

In a blender, thoroughly blend the peach half, coconut cream liqueur, orange juice, rum and peach brandy. Pour on top of five ice cubes in a large-bowled glass. Garnish with 1/4 of a peach on a stick and a mint sprig. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
